Whether you love ’em or hate ’em, the latest trends in the home design world can be downright trendy. But that doesn’t mean that some of those designs aren’t timeless or, at the very least, fresh. Tell us which of these trends you love and loathe. What are your picks for the best and worst on the list?
Deer Antlers
No longer relegated to your granddad’s hunting lodge, the antler -- whether natural or crafted from white plastic -- made a big appearance last year. Should we shoot this trend dead in 2008? After all, even deer shed their antlers every season…

Brown, Brown, and More Brown
No longer an accent color, brown was declared the new black three years ago and has crept into
every facet of design from weddings to home decor. Is it classic or a flash in the pan?

Accent Walls
Accent walls were originally designed to provide a backdrop to a visual element, like a piece of art, or a built-in feature, like a fireplace or shelf. By using a contrasting paint color or wallpaper, you can add a splash of color and interest to a room. What are your thoughts on this trend?

Animal Prints (the Other Kind)
Birds and other wildlife have flocked to home design the past two years in a big way. From pillows to prints, woodland creatures -- birds, deer, and squirrels, oh my! -- are the latest craze. Will this craze last or is it for the birds?

Color on the Walls
It may seem silly to call colorful walls a “trend,” but many of us remember stark white walls being de rigueur back in the ’90s. Are vibrant oranges, lime greens, or jewel-toned blues and reds still chic? Which colors are in now?

Geometric Shapes
You may not have paid attention in high school, but geometry made a big comeback in both rugs and furniture this past year. From the high-end (Jonathan Adler) designers to the more affordable (West Elm), shapes have become stylish. What’s your angle?

Antlers are done. I was over them when they started. Color will always be in and accent walls will always be popular, although I loathe them! Brown will always be around as a staple just like Black...it never went away. I see deep purple and navy making a huge hit as the "new black" very soon. I am a huge fan of amimal prints, but not as a base fabric, more as an accent in a fun small pillow. Geometrics are fun, but can get really cheesy, they work best when used sparingly. Combining geometric chairs and rugs and fabrics tend to be too busy and a touch overkill.

I love all the colorful trends listed here. Browns are nice and neutral without being as striking as black. I even used brown in my wedding! Accent walls in bright jewel or citrus colors are a nice change from too much drab! The only trend I could do without are the animal prints. I generally don't like printed anything, whether it's flowers, birds, whatever. That's my two cents!

Love bright walls, just painted in orange and apple green! Graphic, geometric shapes are my favorites. Animals are great but I like them alive, not printed on my sheets :)
