I want to paint my living room walls, but I am not sure if I should go with a neutral or bright color because we have glass sliding doors.

We hear your concern. Initial nervousness about painting a room is very common, especially one with a giant window. At a certain time of the day your glass sliding door is going to shine lots of light on your walls, making your paint look completely different during the day than at night.
First things first, always buy a few samples of paint that you like. Once you have them at home, create a square of each color on the wall that gets the most light exposure (make sure the squares are a few inches away from each other). Check in on them during different hours of the day, for one to two days, and see which color looks the best with both artificial and natural light.
Here are some of my favorite paint colors:
Neutrals:
- Benjamin Moore Decorator’s White -- The name says it all.
- Benjamin Moore China White -- A great white with a tint of blue.
- Benjamin Moore Cloud Nine 2144-50 -- Very pale gray green.
- Benjamin Moore Mt Rainer 2129-60 -- Beautiful grayish blue.
Color:
- Benjamin Moore Sweet Pear 390 -- A great green, but not shocking.
- Benjamin Moore Blue Belle 782 -- True blue bell color.
- Ralph Lauren Relay Red 1B59 -- A really Chinese red.
- Benjamin Moore Wolf Gray 2127-40 -- My new obsession: gray walls.
