My office is small and I am thinking about getting a computer armoire instead of keeping my large desk. Can you give me the pros and cons?
-- rbw

Unless you are holding meetings in your home office or using your desk as a surface for crafting, we really don’t see much need for a large desk. Computer armoires save space -- something you can never have too much of. Plus, they can be really attractive these days, so you have a lot of options decor-wise.

Using this Ikea version as an example, armoires are often designed with lots of functional drawers and components to put all your stuff, so you won’t necessarily need extra storage elements.

You know what else we love about these new computer armoires? You can close the doors and all of your work stuff goes away -- no one has to see your mess and you can mentally stop working.
