Here's everything you need so when it's time to get handy, your tools are ready to bust out. Just promise you won't get them all in pink.

  • Adjustable wrench
  • Cordless drill (15 amps)
  • Fastener assortment (screws, nails, bolts, drywall anchors)
  • Hammer
  • Level
  • Pliers set
  • Screwdriver set (flathead and Phillips)
  • Tape (electrical, duct, masking, and painter’s tape)
  • Tape measure
  • Utility knife

FOR PLUMBING FIXES

  • Pipe wrench
  • Plumber's putty
  • Teflon tape
  • Tile saw
  • Your plumber’s phone number (hello!)

FOR HANGING, PATCHING, AND LIGHTING

  • Handsaw
  • Nails
  • Pencil
  • Putty knife
  • Sandpaper (for smoothing the patched wall)
  • Spackle or putty (best in white; you can always paint over it to match the wall)
  • Stud finder
  • Voltage tester

FOR PAINTING

  • Blue painter’s tape
  • Brushes (various sizes)
  • Drop cloth
  • Ladder
  • Rollers
  • Sandpaper
  • Trays
  • Wooden stirrer
