We decided we wanted new construction and looked at about 25 sets of models.

We looked for about three months until we found the right one.
The worst part about house-hunting was...
Finding stuff we liked but couldn’t afford, and spending all weekend driving to look at different models.
The best part of house-hunting was...
Looking at model homes gives you great decorating ideas. Models always have the furniture placed just right to make the room look bigger, and the paint colors are always so complementary.
Was it hard to compromise and find a house you both loved?
It wasn’t hard. We wanted a lot of the same things; this house has mostly everything we were looking for.
What advice do you have for Nesties who are currently house-hunting?
Keep looking; don’t give up. Your house is out there, but you might have to look around weekend after weekend to find it. Make a list of all the things you want and pick the house that has as many of the items on the list as possible. Don’t be afraid to be picky -- you're going to live there for a long time.
