The Fitness Plan
Work with your favorite teammate (the one you married) to push each other to shed some pounds and get healthy.
the plan
Encourage and push each other to eat better every night and work out at least three times a week. Set a mental goal now: "We want to lose __ pounds" or "We want to run a five-mile race."
why do it?
Even if you eat right and work out occasionally, this is a chance to really push yourselves and start feeling more in control of your health and your goals. You might think you can't do it -- you don't have time, you're too tired. Schedule your daily itinerary around workouts, and soon it will be a way of life. And you'll start having more energy and feeling less tired -- you won't want to go without it.

why together?
You know how it's easier to accept disappointing yourself rather than disappointing someone else? By making a promise to push each other, you and your mate become, well, teammates. It's a lot more fun, and you'll be more successful when you join forces. Plus, this way, you won't be snacking on carrots while your mate is binging on chips and dip.
the workouts
Start with cardio exercise three or four times a week, for 30 minutes each day. When you begin to see results or stop breaking as much of a sweat (after about two weeks), do more. The goal is to give your body a shock each time you work out. Otherwise, it'll settle into a comfortable routine. Do three of the following exercises every week for at least 30 minutes. Once something becomes too easy, increase the intensity.
