The first order of business is to get a pumice stone. A must-have for any DIY pedicure, a pumice stone will quickly and gently remove rough or callused skin on your feet.

Here's how to get started:

  • Soak your feet in the bath or a pan of warm water.
  • Lather your feet with your favorite shower gel.
  • Gently rub pumice stone over rough areas.
  • Use a washcloth to wash away the dead skin cells.

What works for me is cocoa butter. You can buy it in a jar or tube at your local drugstore. I wash my feet at night and apply it, and then wear socks. By the next morning they are soft and moisturized.
