Laundry Q&A: Washing Printed Sheets?

Q.

The Nest Q&A

I just bought new cream sheets with a beautiful navy trim and print. How should I wash them so the colors don't bleed?

A.

Nothing is better than a new pair of sheets, so we understand why you want to keep them looking their best. Your best bet to avoid color bleeding is to wash them in cold water with a mild detergent, and if you must iron 'em, use a very cool setting. And use color-safe bleach occasionally to get extra grime out.
