This often-forgotten area -- the place where your staircase might have a little extra room on one step or take a turn -- is a great place to show some charm and personality in your home. The natural thing to put here is family photos or a grandfather clock, so try shaking things up with something a little more whimsical; say, a display of your snow globe collection or an unexpected grouping of photos in vintage frames and original art on the wall. Whatever you do here, the key is to think outside the box. With such a small area, it’s a great place to take some risks.
