DIY: Pretty Paper Ornaments

Give a handmade look to your tree or just your coffee table spread with paper ornaments from Sabrina Moyle, DIY diva and owner of stationery store Hello!Lucky. Here's how to make one of these super-cute ornaments:

Materials

  • 1 holiday card
  • Gift wrap the size of the folded card
  • 2 paper fasteners
  • 6 inches ribbon or string

Tools

  • Paper cutter or craft knife
  • Cutting mat
  • Glue stick
  • Hole punch

How-To

1. Cut the card along the fold and discard the back half. Glue gift wrap to the back of the card.
2. Cut the card into 1/2" strips. Cut it lengthwise to make a larger ornament; crosswise for a smaller ornament (yields 2 ornaments). You need 6-8 strips to make an ornament.
3. Fasten the strips together by punching a hole at the end of each strip. Stack strips so holes are aligned. Insert a paper fastener through each end and fasten loosely.
4. Separate the strips to make a sphere. Bow the strips by applying pressure at both ends. Tighten the paper fasteners to secure, then tie string to one of the paper fasteners to make loop for hanging.
