The Nest Q&A

I’d like to reupholster the seats on my dining room chairs. How much fabric should I get?

A.

Getting enough fabric is key. Imagine running out mid-project and having half-assed chairs— literally! Since fabric can get pricey, this isn’t the time to guesstimate. For the most reliable measurement, use the actual cushion as the template. Remove it from the seat, flip it over and take measurments. Once you have your numbers, add four feet all around because the overlay will guarantee your cushion is totally covered.
