How to Make Jell-O Shots

This frat-party favorite graduates to cocktail party appropriate thanks to a little champagne and this recipe from Bruce Weinstein’s The Ultimate Party Drink Book.

STEP 1:
Add a cup of boiling water to a packet of sparking white grape Jell-O mix.

STEP 2:
Stir until the powder is completely dissolved.

STEP 3:
Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.

STEP 4:
Slowly add 1 cup of chilled champagne. (Expect some foam.)

STEP 5:
Pour the mix into an ice cube tray and pop your champagne Jell-o shots in the fridge for at least 4 hours.

STEP 6:
When the Jell-O is firm, dip the trays in hot water for about 5 seconds to loosen up the shots.

STEP 7:
To remove, run a knife around the edges of each cube, invert the trays over a large bowl or tray and get the party started.
