The Nest Q&A

Can I use cooking spray on a grill?

A.

Yes, you can and should, particularly if you have rusty or nonstick grates. Basic Pam is fine to use, but go with the plain unflavored kind (unless you want your grilled fish to reek of faux butter).

If you're worried about out-of-control flames shooting up when you spray, don't. In reality, the flare-up (yes, there will be a slight one) is so minimal that unless you happen to be leaning over the grate with your face two inches away, you're unlikely to have an issue.
