Cooking Q&A: Passing Off Store-Bought Dessert As Homemade

Q.

Is it okay to cheat and pass off a store-bought dessert as homemade at a party?

A.

If you don't have time to bake - or aren't that skilled in the kitchen - you can buy something in the store and make it your own. Try picking up a pie at the bakery but add homemade whipped cream or pop pre-made cookie dough into the oven. But keep in mind that you don't have to be an expert baker to whip up a delicious dessert on your own.
