The holidays are upon us -- but rather than just enjoying your plate of turkey and all those fabulous Thanksgiving-y sides while you catch the football game, some couples are forging their own holiday traditions. Here are some nontraditional traditions you can adopt as your own this Turkey Day.
On Thanksgiving night, my husband and I drive around our local mall and electronics stores and laugh at the people already lined up for the Black Friday sales the next day. --STW_77
We volunteer at The Salvation Army on Thanksgiving. It’s not your typical day of eating at home, but we always feel good afterward. --ENGLAMW
I have friend whose family dresses up like pilgrims for Thanksgiving. --BG022202
We listen to the song “Alice’s Restaurant” during Thanksgiving dinner. --MAG1CARPET
We watch and quote Christmas Vacation all year ’round. But starting at Thanksgiving dinner, it gets crazy. --RUDYWOOTEN
For Thanksgiving we all fill out slips of paper of what we are thankful for (some are serious and some are funny). Then we pass them out and everyone has to guess who wrote them. --MRS_CARROL
