7-Day Meal Plan

7-day healthy menu plan

A diet might seem limiting to some, time-consuming to others, and downright unappealing (no rice cakes, please!) to the rest of us. But before you pull out one of these excuses, we dare you to try this healthy menu. Yes, you may have to buy new things at the grocery store or get crafty in the kitchen, but if you're really up for losing weight, it's worth the effort.

Lisa MacDonald, nutrition manager at Miraval Life in Balance, a destination spa in Tucson, Arizona, created this menu of nutrient-rich meals, balancing carbs with protein and fat in every bite. The best part: It's flexible. Mix and match as your taste buds see fit (guys, check out the special notes that address your need for bigger portions). And if you love one meal, feel free to eat it seven days a week!

To figure out the right portion size, use these approximations from the American Dietetic Association:

* 1 teaspoon = the tip of your thumb to the first joint
* 3 ounces of meat = a deck of cards
* 1 cup of pasta = a tennis ball
* 1/2 cup of veggies = a lightbulb
* 1 1/2 ounces cheese = three dominoes

Keep clicking for the menus!

As a registered dietitian, I think it's great that this 7 day menu contains so many fruits and vegetables, lean meats, whole grains, and low fat dairy. However, this plan seems unecessarily complicated to me. Also many of the recipes do not sound tasty at all... Chicken, brown rice, and veggies with no sauce or seasoning or flavor of any kind? No thanks. Consult an RD for a meal plan, or at minimum visit www.mypyramid.gov for more information.

Could we get a meal plan for people that work. I don't have enough time to prepare meals in the morning and need things on the go.

For breakfast-to-go I make a batch of mini crustless quiches (baked in muffin tins) on the weekend. I like to make them with spinach but they're very versatile so you can really add anything that sounds like a good combo. I usually divide them up so that 2 mini quiches equal 1.5 eggs. This is a great way to get some protein and veggies for breakfast without waking up early and doing extra work.

I make my lunch the night before, while my husband makes dinner. It give us time to be in the kitchen together, and we get healthy lunches that don't cost a lot!

What would be really awesome is a shopping list at the end, for the more lazy people amongst us ^_^

This menu looks interesting, I want to lose weight and tried a lot of remedies, last year I started using Phentermine and I lost 5 pounds. I am working and it’s hard for me to prepare meals, only in the evening I have time to prepare something, but I stopped eating after 6 o`clock. I will try some of the recipes and will post the results.

What could you recommend me for a toenail fungus treatment? You seem to know a lot of healthy diet plans and stuff. I hope you can help me out with my question as well. Thank you in advance.

If you want to slim down then along with doing workout you also need to follow a diet plan. A dietician would make the best workable diet plan for you. You could stay healthy as long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle. But do not try drugs. A friend of mine almost ruined her life due to heroin addiction. She is now receiving treatment at one of the best heroin rehab centers.

You have to follow the diet that is right for you; do not start eating less thinking this will help you lose weight. This would in fact create more health problems for you. So basically you should avoid high calorie food. And do not forget your work out; work out will help you get a trim body. I was looking for information on Narconon when I saw your post.

To stay fit you have to make a lot of efforts. Along with your diet, workout you have to make effort in staying away from any addiction. Addiction be it cocaine addiction, could be dangerous for your health. To get cure you need special treatment centers like methamphetamine treatment center.

You could create your own healthy recipe; avoid calorie as much as you can. So basically you need to avoid ingredients and cooking style that are full of calories. You could check out blogs on nutrition to learn more about food value. Health blogs are there too to provide valuable information. Patients having candida yeast, would benefit from candidayeastsupport.com.
