How to Exercise if You’re Lazy

Break your couch potato routine -- by breaking a sweat. (Don't worry, you'll barely notice!)

You know you should work out, but that sofa’s pretty tempting after a long day at work. Burn calories and tone up with these workouts that don’t take too much effort (but bring results!).

Grab a DVD (and no, we don’t mean Avatar). There are thousands of workout discs out there that offer everything from beginners’ yoga to advanced ab exercises -- and you can do them right in your living room.

Get gardening. You need to pull those weeds out anyway, and all that squatting and standing your legs will get a killer workout (without you even noticing).

Try Pilates. Okay, so some of the moves are hard -- like, really hard. But many of them can be done while lying on your back (which is what you’d be doing on the couch anyway).

Take a lap. If you find yourself sitting for more than half an hour, get up and walk around -- even if you’re in the office. Moving around during the day is key to keeping your metabolism going strong so you burn more calories
Buy a stationary bike. You can watch House just as easily from there as your recliner.
