The Romantic Couple

Recreate your honeymoon. Say you went to a laid-back island. Cook up seafood and kick back with tropical drinks. Went to Europe? Craft a “Tour of Europe” meal: Have Spanish tapas, an Italian entree, and a French dessert. Put on your most stylish outfits and listen to the Gypsy Kings or Hotel Costes: Best of Costes.

The Adventurous Couple

Could you hack it on Survivor: Couples Edition? Test your toughness with geocaching, “a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure.” A geocacher can place a geocache anywhere in the world (think: the middle of the forest or top of the Empire State Building) and find it using GPS technology. Or create an at-home treasure hunt for your partner. The prize? You, of course.

The Competitive Couple

Remember the paintball scene from 10 Things I Hate About You? There’s no denying that a little friendly competition gets you in the mood for some acrobatic bedroom antics later on. Start the day with a hearty breakfast and gear up for some serious competition...followed by a postgame shower.

The Smarty-Pants Couple

Get your hands on your local weekend paper and do the crossword puzzle together, or challenge each other to a breakfast game of Scrabble. The winner gets any carnal wish granted that day (so basically, both of you win).

The Playful Couple

Are dinner prix fixes and overly formal activities totally not your thing? Use the day as an opportunity to be kids again. Treat yourselves to a brunch at your neighborhood pancake joint. Then head outside for some rough-and-tumble time at the park. Who cares what other people think? You're in love...and saved yourselves a ton of cash!
