Just No. of San Fran is Napa Valley and Sonoma, so there are a lot of amazing wineries there as well.

Been to Milwaukee so many times before with the hubby. Never realized that I did not take him to any of these places. We just visit family when we go to Milwaukee. Also, I heard the winery's in southern Illinois are pretty cool in the summer.

The Atlanta trip to Tallulah Gorge is very nice. That is a great hike, definitely something to check out :-)

Thinking about taking a trip to Portland, OR or Seattle, WA; any suggestions on where to stay and what to do?

Why should we head up north to WI when there are so many beautiful state parks right here in Illinois?! My husband and I are actually going to Starved Rock State Park in Uttica tomorrow (if the weather holds up) because there are great trails and waterfalls to be seen, very picturesque. Plus there are some great wineries in the area. As for Chicago Metro wineries, why not try Lynfryd Winery in Roselle or Glunz Winery in Grayslake?

While staying at the American Club in Kohler, WI, make sure to dine at the Horse and Plow and order their Beer Cheese soup! The Kohler Waters Spa next door is an amazing retreat and very romantic!

What about Colorado! Not one of those places is within 2 tanks of gas from here!

I saw The Lost World Caverns on here over the summer, so me and my husband tried it out on our road trip and it was awesome! We went on the Wild Cave Tour and it was pretty intense! We came out of there covered in mud. It was a lot of fun and we totally recommend it. Thanks!

I wondered about Colorado too but then I realized the possibilities are endless. We can just get in the car and drive around here until we hit a beautiful spot. :)

8 of 7: Colorado Drive I70 through the mountains and stop off at any number of mountain resorts or charming towns: Glenwood Springs (take a dip, followed by dinner at Juicy Lucy's); Vail for shopping; Breckenridge for skiing; and then ride on down into Denver for some metro area nightlife in LoDo (Lower Downtown), shopping in Cherry Creek, biking around Washington Park and take in a show at Red Rocks. The Nest loves it when I do their job for them. ;)

My husband and I just stayed at the Madonna Inn on our honeymoon, and as we were leaving for the next stop on our trip we commented to each other that we loved our experience at the Madonna Inn so much we wouldn't care if the trip ended right then. It really is a great resort-style hotel with excellent service. I don't always agree with all of The Nest's recommendations, but this one really is great!

These are very nice ideas. I and my husband need that. We have been through some difficult times and a 7 days trip would be great, I’m really thinking about it. It will have to wait though until we get a new car, and this may take a while since my husband is undecided. I started to read things about cars just to help him decide faster. I think I know partsgeek and other similar websites by heart!
