Tulum

Located in the Riviera Maya, this sun-drenched town is known for its Mayan ruins and sandy beaches.

Where to stay: Try La Zebra Beach Cantina & Cabanas (from $100). It has nine jungle-themed cabanas and salsa lessons on the beachside deck every Sunday.

Eat here: For authentic Mexican fare, saddle up with a margarita and the catch-of-the-day at the most popular restaurant in Tulum: ¡Que Fresco!, found at Zamas Hotel. If it’s Friday night, head to Mezzanine for Thai cuisine and dancing.

Must-dos: Explore the Mayan ruins of Coba and climb the 138-foot Nohoch Mul pyramid. Kayak or bike through the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve.

We stayed very near here for our honeymoon. Just one piece of advice: bring the bug spray, because at night there can be quite a few mosquitos.

We had our honeymoon in Riviera Maya, and it was AMAZING (in October)! We stayed at the Ocean Coral & Turquesa. Very affordable!

We had our honeymoon in Riviera Maya in July and also stayed at the Ocean Coral & Turquesa. Not only was it affordable as someone previously stated, it was very nice. We had an awesome time there and can't wait to go back!

We just came back from Playa Moroma in the Riviera Maya and it was amazing! The best part was we got a free upgrade to "Privileged" for being honeymooners which gave us more dinner passes and a room close to the beach and pool.

I just returned from my honeymoon in the Riviera Maya. We stayed at the El Dorado Royale. It was the most beautiful place I have ever seen. The food was awesome and the staff was great. There was entertainment all day and night, plus many different places to relax. I would highly reccomend it to anyone!

We also stayed at the El Dorado Royale in Rivera Maya. PARADISE. The service was amazing, we were an average joe honeymoon couple, and were treated like Kings. The food was gourmet and the alcohol was top shelf. All Inclusive. Very reasonable too. Going back with friends soon!!

Was so glad to hear that couples enjoyed El Dorado Royale for their honeymoon, as that is where we are bound in less than 2 weeks! Sounds like we made a great choice, and hope we enjoy it as much!

The place is exotic; the atmosphere looks so serene. You mentioned the place has Mayan ruins; for people interested in ancient history this place is a treasure trove. After reading about this place I have made up my mind, I am going to spend my next vacation here. For Christmas I went to Bahamas.

I have booked a room with hotels near Denver airport. I think that your suggestion here is quite nice and interesting. The next booking is for a flight to Mexico. Wish me luck!!! I'm curious about how much it costs to fly from Denver to Mexico.
