We go to Fortuna Beach, Bahamas! It's a lot cheaper than the main island and less touristy! Plus, the Viva Wyndham is all inclusive! It costs us about 1800.00 for 5 days with airfare but its worth it if we save for it! We like to go in the Winter. His uncle has a timeshare too so sometimes all we need to do is pay for our airfair! by bosoxgirl609 on Aug 11, 2009
My husband and I stopped at St. Lucia on our cruise for our honeymoon! Of all 6 islands that we visited, this one was our favorite. Such a beautiful island, with romantic, hidden waterfalls. The people were also extremely friendly! by asuchic on Aug 12, 2009
great tip bosoxgirl609! I can't wait to try our Viva Wyndham... What did you splurge on while you were there? by Pfingsten on Oct 01, 2009
If you go to St. Lucia, you HAVE to stay at Jade Mountain (the recommended Treehouse restaurant is part of it). It is the most amazing place I've ever been to....the sheer construction of the place is amazing, with breathtaking views of the Pitons to wake up to every morning out your open 4th wall. You can enjoy the views in your very own infinity pool in your room as well. This was our honeymoon, and we are so anxious to get back there!!! < /> by JLadislaw on Oct 15, 2009
Anyone have any insight on all inclusive resorts? Still trying to plan our honeymoon. Not sure where to start?! by megz1222 on Oct 15, 2009
We went to Couples Resort Tower Isle in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. It was an all inclusive resort. We loved it there! We had looked at other resorts like Sandals, but loved how much was included at Couples. There weren't as many resturants as Sandals, but some of the excursions that we would have had to pay for at Sandals were included at Couples. The staff there was so wonderful and were great to us. I would recommend an all inclusive resort to anyone, for the fact that you don't have many expenses to worry about while you're on vacation. I recommend Couples Resort to everyone, even my own family! I'm sure other all-inclusive resorts are great, but Couples was amazing! by crhawkins03 on Oct 17, 2009
My husband and I went to Jamaica for our honeymoon and I do not recommend it! I wouldn’t wish that trip on my worst enemy! We stayed at Sandals Montego Bay and it was horrible from the moment we stepped off the plane. Very dirty, everyone was constantly asking for money and tips (even though it was supposed to be included). The food made us sick for a week. We were taken to the wrong resort (after tipping the driver $20 because that’s the smallest bill we had on us). When we finally arrived to ours they had overbooked our room type so they downgraded us without a discount. The pool was under construction. The “free” activities were a joke. The only activities we actually wanted to do you had to pay extra and get in line at 6:00am. The best part, that the booking agent failed to mention, was that we were literally a chain link fence away from the Montego Bay airport runway. It was a good thing our wedding was amazing because our honeymoon was awful. We decided day two of this nightmare to make the best of it and just stayed “under the covers” for the rest of the trip. We met a lady on our flight home that shared a similar experience at a different resort on the other side of the island. She claimed to be an avid traveler and said she would never go back to Jamaica and neither will we. I’m looking forward to our honeymoon #2! by nreed0103 on Dec 28, 2009
I am going to have to check out Fortuna Beach...1800 for 5 days with airfare is a great price! My husband and I went to Jamaica, Ocho Rios in June for our honeymoon with Sandals and we fell in love with it!! The all inclusive was amazing, tipping was included, white glove service at all meals, so many activities included, all alcoholic beverages included, the list of amazing things goes on! What was great about the restaurants at our resort is if you didn't like the food or menu choices, just get up and go to a different one :) Definitly reccommend an all inclusive deal...it's totally worth every penny, just walking around without worrying how much this dinner is going to cost us or whats 20% of our meal ticket so we can tip, the all inclusive is great :) We spent 3,000 for 7 nights, and 1,000 on airfare. It was all worth it and because we loved it so much we are going back for our 1 year! nreed0103 I feel bad that your experience with Sandals was the way it was, my husband and I didn't have any problems at all. I'm so suprised they weren't more willing to accomodate you by comping off some or your stay or something. We only tipped our butler and we gave the bus driver and mc guy $20.00 to split to make sure we had a great tour about the island on our way to our resort, but then again your resort was less than 10 minutes away..ours was an hour, so yeah $20 would be a little upsetting to just be taken to the wrong location! I had a friend go Montego Bay Sandals and she loved it, I definitly would have demanded some re-imbursements for such a misserable experience. by cw2 on Feb 10, 2010
We went to St Lucia for our honeymoon and it was INCREDIBLE!!! Beautiful. We stayed at the Sandals Halycon resort. Very romantic. We loved every moment of it. We did the zipline throught the rainforest...a must do adventure. And if you are into scuba diving list we are, it is a must. well worth the extra money...if you love snorkling you will LOVE scuba diving. by Danze14 on Jun 28, 2010
My husband and I went to Sandals Royal Bahamian resort for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time!!! There were so many restaurants to choose from and an easily accessible separate island when we wanted a change during the week. The resort looked just like the pictures...clean and beautiful!!! We were also lucky enough to get a $250 spa credit when we booked which we used to get a couples massage on the separate island. It was incredible!!! My husband and I would definitely recommend this Sandals resort to any honeymooners out there or anyone sharing an anniversary. by sldaigle14 on Jun 28, 2010
My wife and I went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon and it was spectacular. The 3 resorts that we considered were Jade Mountain, Ladera, and Stonefield Villa Estates. Jade Mountain is without a doubt the most luxurious, but if you want the same feel with even a better view of the pitons go to Stonefield Villa Estates. We did the zipline rainforest tour with a couple staying at ladera and they said they wished they stayed at stonefield. You can get a unbelieveable experience for less than 5K for a weeklong honeymoon that includes approximately 4 excursions. We did whale & dolphin watching, snorkeling, zipline, mineral bath/volcano, tour of the island, and petit piton climb. Dont do the petit piton... it was terrifying. by ErinAric on Jun 28, 2010
We just got back from Beaches Turks; best vacation ever. Worth every penny. We got 65%off and a free night. The travel agency got us a free upgrade and some extras too that others didnt get. Oh, I used NJTravel.com; there known for Affordable Vacations. by dbdiva on Jul 19, 2010
