Pete Yorn's Road Trip Rules

Packing tips and the perfect freeway soundtrack from singer/songwriter Pete Yorn.

Musicians...they know a few things about being on the road. Here's waht Pete's taking with him on his fall tour

What do you bring with you to make traveling better?
If I'm going to be on the bus, I bring my own pillow. And my iPhone -- I watch shows on it and play games. It helps.

Got any good packing tips?
It's all about discipline. I've had to learn that I never need three sweaters. Sometimes one, maybe two if I get sloppy...but never three. Basically, less is more. If I'm in civilization, I can always buy what I need if I'm running low on anything.

What's the weirdest thing you absolutely always bring?
Kashi Go Lean Cereal and agave syrup!

What's your idea of the perfect freeway soundtrack?
I don't have anything to say about these songs that they don't say themselves. Just put these on a playlist, shuffle 'em in any order and enjoy the ride.

Pixies, "Gigantic"
World Party, "Way Down Low"
Paul Mauriat, "Love Is Blue"
Bob Dylan, "Lay, Lady, Lay"
Judas Priest, "Heading Out to the Highway"
Grateful Dead, "Box of Rain"
The Who. "The Kids Are Alright"
Roxy Music, "More Than This"
Teenage Fanclub, "Ain't That Enough"
Martin Bottcher, "Snow Frolic"
