I live in San Diego and there are tons of hotels running specials right now. Check around!

All these options sound reasonable for a quick, cheap get-away, but I think the biggest thing that makes it difficult isn't so much hotel pricing, but instead flights. Air fare is outrageous!

Hi Bobby&Kristina, We agree with you! That's why we checked out flight prices from all parts of the country when we picked these destinations.

My girlfriends and I just took a trip to Vegas, and the Bellagio is an excellent option for a romantic or fun getaway. The water show is breathtaking. We flew over parts of the Grand Canyon - AWESOME sight. I recommend Las Vegas for all occassions. Enjoy!

My husband and I love to travel, and often stay in hostels. Many have private rooms for $30-$60 a night, and are often right in the heart of the city (or on the shore), with hotels around us going for $150/night and more. Hostel info: http://www.sandiegohostels.org/ http://www.notsoh
ostel.com/ http://www.hiusa.org/ We also pick destinations we can drive to, to save money AND check out fun/unique/scenic spots along the way.

I went to Gulf Shores, AL for spring break with a group of friend a couple years ago and it was super cheap to stay! Our condo was literally right across the street from the beach and was only about $150 per person for the whole week! The beaches are great and the restaurants on the main strip are all really great too. Plus, it's just a short drive to Pensacola, FL, if you want to check out the beaches there too. It's an awesome vacation spot!

My husband and I also went to Gulf Shores last January for a quiet vacation for a couple days. It was wonderful! The hotel was cheap but very nice (Best Western on the beach)! You have to watch out for the jellyfish on the beach, but the local restaurants are nice, and it's perfect for a quick getaway.

One of the best vacations I ever took was this summer on the French Riviera. Although not very cheap, I can tell you that. But the cities around there are all so different and there's really no time to get bored. I think if you are ready to go over your budget a little bit, it's great alternative to the hawaii vacation hotels. While you're at it be sure to visit St. Paul de Vence and the Perfume Factory there where you can create your own perfume.

If you are fond of travel you do not want to compromise on anything. Learn about different tour packages that are comparatively comfortable for your wallet. But sometimes we all want to indulge a little bit. I recently went to Tel Aviv ; thanks to DMC Tel Aviv we had a great time there.
