Q.
My friend told me that she’s dating a married man—I’m horrified. Can I call her on it?
A.
Your reaction is totally understandable. But before you verbally unload on her, get clear on what you really want to say (i.e., no calling her a tramp). Say that you care about her but are troubled by what she’s doing. Affairs hurt more than the parties involved; they also rattle the trust of friends and family. So tell her your feelings—but be prepared for her to ignore them.
