Love Q&A: Talking About TTC?

Q.

The Nest Q&AWhat's the best thing to say to people who ask when we're having a baby?

A.

We hear that “None of your business” doesn’t go over very well, although it's effective for getting people off your back.

If you’re trying to be polite, coyly (and vaguely) say something like, “Maybe someday” or “We’re not sure we will." They should get the point. But we've found that people who ask this question don’t realize how extremely personal this topic can be; therefore, they don’t easily get the point. So if they keep prodding, feel free to say, “It’s just a very personal and private decision, so we aren’t discussing it with people right now.” Hey, they asked. That should shut them up!
