Whoa, this one's a shocker (in a good way). Walmart, the world's largest retailer, known for providing affordable products and, well, accused of making people fat
, is going healthy.
The mega-store just announced a five-year plan to carry thousands of packaged foods with less salt, trans fat and sugar -- and to lower the price of fruits and veggies. As a part of her campaign to promote a healthy diet, Michelle Obama stood alongside Bill Simon, the president and CEO of Walmart, for yesterday’s announcement. (Go, Michelle!) Now, no one's saying Walmart is going to turn into a less expensive Whole Foods, but we're pretty proud of the mondo-chain. Could we be on our way to a healthier country?
