What was the hardest part about finding your new home?
We wanted to find a home that we can stay in for the rest of our lives. Everyone kept saying that this was very unrealistic and that most people buy starter homes, but we wanted a house to grow in. It was a very difficult process because we looked at several nice homes that would’ve easily been great starter homes, but we couldn’t see ourselves raising children or living in that home or area forever.

What was the best part?
The best part was when we finally knew which house would be ours!

Was it hard to compromise and find a home you both loved?
Not really. We discussed what we wanted in a home beforehand, so we were both on the same page when it came to looking.

Do you have any advice for Nesties who are still looking for their first home?
First, find a great real estate agent. Our agent was so wonderful about walking us through the whole process and helping us find a home that we would love. Second, talk with your spouse frequently about what you both want in a home as you look at houses. Finally, make sure to get a home inspection! It can let you know if there’s anything wrong with the house that you might have to pay to fix.

What’s your favorite thing about your new home? What's unique about it?
There are so many great things about our house. I love the wraparound porch and am looking forward to sitting out there on the swing all summer! We also love our huge claw-foot tub. The most unique thing about the house is the little breakfast nook off the kitchen -- the previous owner had a table specially made for the space, and she left it for us when she moved.
