Organic: Tela Beauty Organics Measure Shampoo, $50
Nonorganic: Frederic Fekkai Technician Shampoo For Dry, Damaged, Color-Treated Hair, $23
Nestie mcnam002 was interested to see if organic products work as well (or better) than the products she currently uses. Here’s how she broke it down:
Organic: She was pleasantly surprised by the organic shampoo, calling it “arguably the best I have ever used.” Organic shampoos are easily distinguished because they lack laurel sulfate, the chemical that causes shampoos to lather. Mcnam002 definitely noticed this, remarking “It’s hard to tell when you have gotten it all out of your hair because it doesn’t lather nearly as much as other shampoo.” Nevertheless, “Despite the lack of frilly textures, creamy appearances, and sudsy lathers many other shampoos have, this [shampoo] worked amazing.”
Nonorganic: Of the Fekkai, she remarked that the bottle “looked great in the shower, and the texture of it feels more creamy and high-end” than the shampoo she currently uses. Since both shampoos had a similar effect on her hair – reducing frizz and keeping grease at bay, she would probably buy the Fekkai again due to the lower price point.
Verdict: Tela Measure Shampoo: A+
Fekkai Shampoo: B+
